Your next read is just a click away with Libby. All you need is a library card to enjoy free eBooks, audiobooks and digital magazines, any time, anywhere.

Getting Started

1. First, you need a library card. If you already have one, great! If not, you can sign up for an online card here.

2. Download the Libby app to your mobile device or tablet from the Apple App Store or Google Play. If you’re using a computer, you can use Libby in your web browser at libbyapp.com.

3. When you open Libby for the first time, it will guide you through the login process. You will need:

  • your library card number (all digits, no spaces) found on the back of your library card. If you signed up online, you should have received your card number to your email address.
  • your PIN, a 4-digit number provided in your welcome guide when you received your card. If you signed up online, you created your own PIN during signup.

Forgot your PIN or lost your card? No problem! Give us a call at 613-342-3936 or email info@brockvillelibrary.ca and we can help you.

Browsing and Borrowing

1. Use the search bar to find an author or book you would like to read, or use filters to browse books by format, genre, or availability.

2. Found something you want to borrow? Add a tag to save it for later, place a hold or borrow it right away if it is available. Your borrowed books will be downloaded to your device to read right in the app.

Borrow eBooks with your Kobo eReader

1. Connect your library card to your Kobo to borrow and read eBooks right in your eReader.

2. On your eReader’s home screen, tap the  Menu icon  More icon at the bottom of the screen.

3. Tap Settings.

4. Tap OverDrive (this is the name of the company that created the Libby app).

5. Tap Get Started.

6. Tap Sign in to OverDrive to find your library and sign in with your library card.

7. We recommend using the Libby app on your smartphone or tablet to search, place holds and borrow books. Borrowed items will automatically be downloaded to your eReader when it syncs.
