Libby Security Update

On December 4th, a security update is being applied to Brockville Public Library cardholders who use the Libby app. To better protect your information, Libby is now asking users to enter their PIN or password when logging into the app.

How this will affect you:

Following the update, you will likely be asked to enter your library card number and PIN/password.

Don’t know your library card number?

Locate your physical library card; the number should be on the back. You will need to enter all digits of your library card number with no spaces.

If you have lost your library card, call us at 613-342-3936 or email info@brockvillelibrary.ca for help.

Forgot your PIN?

If you have created an account on our online catalogue, you can reset your password by clicking “Forgot Your Pin?” on the catalogue login page.

If you have not yet created an account on BiblioCommons, you will not be able to reset your PIN online. Instead, call us at 613-342-3936  or email info@brockvillelibrary.ca for help.

Will I have to enter my PIN each time I use Libby?

No, you will not have to enter your PIN every time you use the Libby app. You should remain logged in on your device once you have gone through this login process once. To connect to new devices, you will need to enter your PIN again, and you may intermittently be asked to login for security purposes on Libby, but this should be infrequent.

Why is this update happening?

This security update will better protect library user’s personal information, enhancing your digital privacy. Additionally, this update will prevent the loss of any current holds or checkouts that you have on Libby if you need to switch your library card number in the event that you lose your library card.
